She has worked in Local Government for over 24 years and has occupied positions as varied as Lottery Officer, Development Manager (Regeneration and Economic development) to Active Communities Manager.
In all of these positions partnership work has been a vital part of the work, and working with local communities and the private sector a key area of interest.
Experience of physical and social regeneration, health, young people, community safety has been gathered over the years and Lea is now excited about the opportunity to take the work of the partnership to a new level.
“Some good work to establish the partnership has already been done. I’m here to build on this and to develop key elements of the partnership, including producing a new community strategy implementing performance management , improving publicity and marketing, increasing co-ordination.
I aim to work with the Partnership and to really focus on improving educational performance, health of residents, reducing crime, increasing employment opportunities and making Rochdale a great place to live, work, and invest. I’ve been struck quite forcibly by the passion and commitment of people to really make things better for everyone in Rochdale.”
Lea is married, with three children. Her hobbies include walking, swimming reading and enjoying good wine.
