Middleton
Our vision for Middleton Township
“To ensure that Middleton meets the
diverse needs of existing and future residents, their children and
other users and to contribute to a high quality of life and provide
opportunity and choice.”
How will our vision be realised?
- Our vision for Middleton Township will see increasing levels of
training available to young people and adults wishing to improve
their skills or train for a new profession. Initiatives will
provided to support local people returning to employment as well as
opportunities for small, media and large local businesses to
implement a marketing plan to increase business opportunities and
township tourism.
- By promoting NHS initiatives, the Pride Partnership will
highlight the help available to our residents when tackling
problems such as alcoholism, quitting smoking, reducing obesity and
dental treatment, as well as the need to exercise for a healthier
lifestyle.
- The streets will be made safer with more Community Police
Officers on the beat, vulnerable person property services will be
carried out, while promoting target hardening on burglary hot spots
and a crackdown on underage alcohol sales.
- We will improve the local environment by working with local
community/friends groups to ensure appropriate development and
funding opportunities. Resident ‘Grot Spots’ will continue to be
highlighted and concerns resolved.
- We will provide provisions for multi-activity youth sports
facilities which will be introduced across Middleton and support
offered to Middleton Youth Forms role in consultation with young
people across Middleton. By supporting career aspirations for young
people they can look forward to a future of employment and freedom
from existence on benefits.
